 All lambs are raised and processed according to USDA guidelines for humane and pasture-raised standards.

Yellowstone River Farms defines Pasture Fed, Pasture Raised and Humanely Raised according to the following definitions:

Pasture Raised and Fed

Our Montana lambs have continuous access to pasture year round. Our lambs are not confined during their entire lifetime.  

Humanely Raised

Our lambs are treated ethically, with care and respect by ensuring they always have fresh pasture, fresh water and shelter.  We use sheep dogs to protect and help the flock and to make sure they are free from unnecessary stress, allowing them to live comfortable lives.
